Okay… the serious answer is just “because we’re really cool”. Honest! We understand photography, we don’t care if you post “naughty” photos, and we’re here to help out when you need it–no bullshit, hassle. And quite often: no charge!
We know that there are a lot of free photo-hosting options out there like PhotoBucket and Flikr. And if all you’re doing is putting up snapshots of your kids and your vacations, those services are great. If you’re trying to market yourself as a serious photographer, model, make-up artist, or designer, those services just don’t cut it. They make you look cheap and unprofessional.
PhotoNiche is NOT a photo-hosting site. We’re a webhosting company providing a specialized service to persons involved in photography. No, that’s not just semantics.
- Your site is yours. We claim absolutely no rights to anything on your site. We will not use your images–or any of your content–without your express permission.
- Your site is yours. If you’re foolish and you decide to leave us for someone else, we’ll help to make sure that all of your content goes with you. Because we use popular open-source applications to power our sites, it means you can easily transfer your site from us to another host (though I can’t imagine why you would want to).
- Your site is yours. You get to decide what it looks like, how it functions, and which of the multitude of extra features you want to implement.
- Did I mention that your site is yours? When you create a site with us, you do so with your own domain name. You’re not just another user tacked onto the end of our name. This means you can market yourself and your business with a distinctive name. It also means that you can move to another host without losing your website address (you won’t want to leave us, however–we’re really cool).
- Oh. Any by the way? Your site is yours. As long as you aren’t violating the law, we don’t dictate what you can and can not display on your site.
